Fantasy Flight Games - Dust Tactics

The Dust Tactics rules are available for download.  I played Dust Tactics at Gen Con and thought the game was quite fun.  The game is played on a checkered board with various terrain effects.  The game is set in a world called "Dust" where the Allies (a collection of the U.S.A., the British Commonwealth, and the French colonial empire), the Axis powers (Germany, Japan, and Italy), and the Sino-Soviet Union (the USSR and communist China) all fight each other.

During the demo troops/vehicles died at a rapid rate.  Although the gaming mechanics are simple, strategic moves definitely come into play.

You should be able to pick up the game sometime in October.  I hear both Amazon and Barns & Nobel will be carrying it in the States.

  1. Tom,

How are the minis in person? A two-dimensional map board doesn't appeal to me, but would the miniatures be useful on actual terrain?

  2. The miniatures looked good to me. If you liked the AT-43 miniatures, then you will like these. The figures come "Primed" according to FFG, so you will probably end up painting them.

I found the walkers to be really cool looking in person, but they did seem a little easier to break vs the AT-43 walkers.
